>the end of hope

Well, I’ve done it – today, May 26th, I threw out the Christmas cards I so carefully made, addressed, and stamped for the 2007 holiday season. I kept holding out hope that I’d send them, use them as notecards and simply write non-Christmassy letters to all the friends and family I so brashly ignored in December. But you know what? It was time to wake up and smell the lack of evergreen in the air… lilacs definitively tell me that I will NEVER send those out, and it’s time to give up and stop feeling bad every time I catch sight of them.

But maybe now’s a good time to start working on the ones for 2008? With my track record…
