>I’m not sure how it was a contest; the same person paid every time. Each week we would tromp the few blocks to Thrifty for our cylindrical cones – my Rocky Road and Luke’s Rainbow “Sugarbert” constants to Uncle Steve’s changing tastes – and no matter whose spokesmodel had won on Star Search that week, Steve always paid.
